GORGE PORTAL
A framed opening of banded stone that marks a passage between spaces.
Thick, irregular sandstone slabs are stacked to form an arched or squared opening, the sand, ochre and rust layers running through its full height. Edges are left chiselled and split, honest to the quarry. Made by hand to order, it turns a garden path or interior passage into a quiet ceremony of crossing.
