The Object Passport is a planned physical and digital record connecting each finished piece to its identity, making and care.
Identity that stays with the object.
A model code identifies a design. A separate, unique object ID will identify an individual manufactured piece. These identities have different purposes and will remain connected.
The planned passport may include the collection, production date and season, craftsperson, material and surface version, production photographs, authenticity information, care and warranty details.
An NFC tag with a QR backup is envisaged as a connection to the digital record. The passport service and verification system are not yet active.
Over time, that record can become part of the object’s provenance: a traceable history of its making and care.
