RIFT PORTAL
A freestanding basalt frame that opens a view through dark faceted stone.
Crisp angular planes of porous charcoal basalt form an upright opening, its vesicles varied in size along every face. A slim recessed black plinth anchors it to the floor or ground. Cut and assembled by hand to order, it marks a threshold in a garden or hall.
